Are the type of person to make a commitment? You say you are going to do something and you are determined to stick to it. Then a week or two later you find yourself not really as committed as you started out with. You don't have the motivation you did to do that thing you need to do for your business or you have already fallen off the healthy eating wagon?

Sound familiar?

Another saying that I like is "There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.” Kenneth Blanchard

I must add to that. Commitment is not enough. You have to recommit everyday to what is you are striving for. Commitment is not a one time deal. Even in relationships and marriages, right? Recommitting yourself to your business, your diet, your fitness routines, your spouse, your family is something we can choose to do instead of finding excuses.

Excuses lead to disempowerment. Choosing to commit and recommit lead to empowerment. Which do you prefer?

Here are 3 ways to recommit to what you are wanting to achieve in an inspiring way.

  1. Write it down. Put it in ink. Your WHY! Why are you starting a travel business? Why are you starting a new work practice, a new routine. What is it going to do for you? How will you feel when this is done? Write this down in detail! Especially the feeling part.

  2. Reflect daily. Take to time daily to reflect on your project that you are committing to. Is it your business, new business practices, a class, a diet or a new habit you are creating? Take just five minutes to remind yourself of your WHY! Read what you wrote daily and multiple times a day if you feel yourself making an EXCUSE.

  3. Say it outloud. Say what you are recommitting to daily. Hear yourself say it. Feel what it feels like when you say it. Breath in that feeling. If it is nervousness, shift that word to excitement.

Let these 3 daily practices help you recommit. This is about showing up first, getting motivated second by recommitting and inspiring yourself to keep going.

Recommitment is what will take you to the places you want to be in your business and your life...Oh and the places you will go!
